The channels that do not participate are just inching that much more toward obscurity.
Just recently we cancelled the cable subscription (still have KylinTV IPTV) for lack of use. Only one TV show was watched per week, and that can be purchased on iTunes in a superior format to what we got via cable, for a fraction of the cost of cable.
If my provider had an app like this, we would have stayed subscribed. Its arcane to sit down in front of a screen at a predetermined time to watch programming, it really is.

I just activated my first iPhone (white) a few hours ago on VZW. The clear Incase Snap Case I bought for it a week ahead of time DOES NOT FIT...no matter how hard I try. It seems the white lip is bigger than the black lip, and this is the part the snap case secures to. Anyone else find this?

Are you people seriously applauding this? What a waste of our tax dollars!! I do contracts with the Navy every single day and I know that the technology that they have will not be benefited by the use of iPad/iPod/iPhone. The military does not offer wi-fi to their staff on base. Everything is hard wired and the conduit is sealed with a tamper proof silicon. The Government is very very particular about their SIPRnet (as they call it). Without wi-fi, what use is the iPad for the military other than to give them a little treat and waste our tax dollars? They already have mobile equipment in the vehicles that is far superior to Apple's products.
As do I (contracts I mean, except most of them are Air Force). True the no wifi is an issue on base, but are we necessarily talking about just on base? I think without hearing more details of what they want to do with this stuff (which we won't) then we can't really make any judgement calls. As for the durability claims, well that is a load of..you know what. The Army does in fact use Mac OS X based systems for many of their servers and even some desktops. The vast majority is still Windows, but the Macs are out there in the wild.

Hi everybody,
at the moment I've got an old non unibody MacBook Pro with an ACD like in the picture below. As apple has switched to the unibody models they started to put a black bezel on the the ACDs and a black keyboard to the MacBooks. What I love about the silver-only-design is, that the content on the screen is much more dominant, the MacBook and the ACD seems to fade away when you are working with them. I just wanted to know what you think about the new vs. old design.

You Americans got it lucky, petrol here in the UK is about �5.15 per gallon, or $8.30.

I really hope the iPhone comes to T-Mobile USA. I am using an unofficially unlocked and jailbroken 1st generation iPhone on T-Mobile right now. The service has been wonderful.
AT&T is horrendous. I was a former customer, and they would overcharge me every month. It took approximately 3 calls every month, lasting at least 45 minutes each, to solve the problem.

The finder is being rewritten. This was posted and discussed several places (i think on thinksecret offsite forums. I haven't installed leopard, and I can't comment on it anyway because of NDA, but from stuff on the web, the finder has been rewritten from scratch and it appears that brushed metal is just temporary.
I agree Finder is slower than a snail. Many Mac fans live in denial about the s-l--o--w f----i-----n-------d--------e----r but it is a joke compared to XP. I love OS X and it would be easy to impress others with it's elegance if it weren't for the S-L--O---W F----I-----N------D-------E--------R.

I bought a Verizon iPad because I have an AT&T iPhone. I figured that if one doesn't work, the other will. I saw no need to get two devices on the same network.
But go ahead, explain to me why that's stupid, since I clearly don't get it and I'm ignorant. :rolleyes:
Could be they made many more Verizon models. Could also be that ATT models are being bought for resale overseas. Nothing wrong with that, which is what the OP was implying, I think. Could also be a combination of the two, of course.
Thankfully, there's no moral, ethical, or legal responsibility saying what you should do with your legally obtained, publicly available tech item. You can use it, blend it, sell it to your neighbor, use it as a frisbee, or even carry it on a plane and once you land, you can do all those same things EVEN if your plane landed near a bunch of Asians instead of near a bunch of white people. Crazy, huh?

I'm walking down inner city and notice Jane is at the local coffee shop, I'll say hi. I'm at the concert with a buddy, and notice Brad is there too. I just entered this really neat cupcake place, I want to let my FRIENDS know.
If you're freaked out a creeper may know your location, why are you friends with them?
All the positive to this new, cool feature - and everyone says is - this will track your every move and people will kidnap you and break into your house, blah blah blah.

If Apple infringed, they should pay, but the better alternative would be to buy Kodak, slowly shut them down (they're already slowly shutting down), then make RIM pay Apple! HAHA!
And in the process, Apple gets tons of patents, plus they can once again sell Apple branded printers and digital cameras again, something they haven't done for quite some time. The original Apple digital cameras were made by Kodak anyway. Then Apple could drop some other brands from Apple Stores and keep almost the entire purchase an all-Apple purchase.
