Just looking at the ''Server Admin' screenshots posted, i noticed that in the list of Services, both AFP and NFS are missing. Is File Sharing managed somewhere else in Lion?
This seems to be all i can find and its in the server app.
I did think i saw something in server admin but after checking it again i seem to be wrong.

This can be expanded to include buying gear in general, like strobes and backdrops, etc...
You don't need much gear at all to get started doing great photography - you just need to be good with people and have reasonable photo skills. If you are have that, then all you need is a reasonably sharp and long-ish lense and a window. See Lloyd Erlick (http://www.heylloyd.com/) for example. I don't think he is still active, but he was shooting 4x5 BW portraits by window light. I think some of his portraits are the best I have seen. I've learned from him to try and keep my portraits simple. I tell my students that doing portraiture is both the easiest and the most difficult kind of photography there is. Easy because you can make great portraits with window light, and one good lense on a camera. If you want to get fancy you can add a reflector :) . Difficult, because you need to work with people.

I love punchy dymanic light with heavy stylisation and lots of retouching, think multiple grided strobes, silver gridded beauty dishes etc, really hard light.

I never let portrait clients see the images straight out of the camera, the lighting I use is way to harsh and makes people look awful because it highlights wrinkles, underlying tonal differences and facial hair, but it provides a great base shot for super softening and styling later in photoshop.

It doesn't say it. It does say "sold separately" under the Mac category. If it were truly honest advertising, it should either say "freely available" or even "not necessary".

I have to agree with most here that Pages didn't live up to my expectations. However, I can't agree with you that Word has been perfected. Word is complete nightmare in certain situations. Its non-intuitive and not very user friendly in many cases (especially the windows version!). I do prefer it to Pages, but its by no means the best that can be done.
Keynote on the other hand is fantastic, and considerably easier to use and prettier than Powerpoint.

Strange how Apple can make an ingeniously simple and easy-to-use interface for a video editing program like iMovie, but cannot with something as simple as a Word processor!
There is something very wrong with the fact that, without any previous video editing experience I could learn iMovie in a day or so, yet with 15 years (or more) of word processing experience I am still struggling with Pages after a week... :confused:

But I agree in theory that we can cut down greatly on how much we drive. And higher gas prices will do that(which is good, even if we don't make as much off taxes as you would if driving levels stay the same)
The new wave of urban living will help too. If people don't have driving as an option because of price, or have it less, interest in public transit but also walking and biking will increase due to natural market pressures. However, many towns and cities in the US will have a major infrastructural gap because they have so many roads that are not cyclist / pedestrian friendly. They will likely change due to economic pressure, but cities investing in walkability now will be well poised to grow when/if such a time comes.

I keep going to Task Manager and clicking "End Task" over and over and over and over and it just won't quit. What's up with that? On my iBook everything just works like it's supposed to to a much greater degree than on my PCs.

It's so sad how the "OS Wars" has stooped to this level. I mean, what the heck, your DVD player and TiVo has an "OS" too! These are PHONES! Although they run "Apps", they don't run "Applications" where you do some real work with. No one sits as a desk to balance the daily sales on an iPhone or hash out some history assignment on a Droid. Just because they have a "CPU" in them, it doesn't make them a "computer" in the Mac/PC sense.
And for those who think..."Well. not now, but because of miniturization, blah blah, they are getting there and soon everyone will be working out of their pockets..." BALONEY! Do you think that the computer industry (and the rest of the industries that use computers) will settle for "a pocket computer reminiscent of the last decade for every employee"? When your iPhone can run the equivalent of MS Office the "computer" will run MS Office 2020! When you can do Adobe Photoshop on your Android, Adobe Holoshop will be what's required to stay in business! :cool:

I was so angry last night to find out there was no longer any Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, or NatGeo :mad:
Quite frankly, I just don't see the difference between what is being offered in my home from the box or from my iPad other than screen size. If the big networks feel as though by pulling their channels from this app is another way for them to figure out how to create revenue, than that sucks. Seems as though they may see some sort of HuluPlus opportunity here. As it was, there were already ads/commercials in the TWC iPad app to begin because it's live TV programming streamed to the iPad.

This is the stupidest POS news. AM I RIGHT? Can't buy an iPhone ONLINE in NY for a day and something is interesting about this? I can't believe CNBC is so anxiously awaiting tablet and new iphone news that they think this is significant.
This has been going on for a long time. You could not order an iPhone for at least for the past month from AT&T in New York state. I know. I tried and family members have tried as well. I thought it was a website error originally until criss1205 had mentioned it. It's just that nobody had checked this out until a couple of days ago.

Apple should've held out on the refresh to include USB 3 and even HDMI. Thunderbolt is currently useless.
DisplayPort to HDMI cables that support both audio and video are quite inexpensive from many online sources. I use one from my iMac to my 40" LCD TV and the DP port takes up a good bit less space than an HDMI port would (which can be important for a portable device).
